Prepare for internet outages at your business.

By | 2017-08-11T16:14:00-07:00 October 29th, 2012|Getting Started, User Tips|1 Comment

In light of Hurricane Sandy and potential internet outages on the East Coast, we’ve put together a short list of things you can do to prepare for an internet outage at your business.

  1. Log into IFSM from any PC browser as the Admin, Manager, Dispatcher, or Technician and click the “Printer Friendly” button on the Work Orders screen for your Pending, or Unassigned, or Unscheduled work orders.  This provides you with a starting point of “what is already on your calendar” before any interruption in internet service.
  2. Our Support FAQs also contain a list of items related to emergency preparedness.

Advanced Inventory integration – v2013

By | 2017-08-11T16:14:00-07:00 September 18th, 2012|Getting Started|0 Comments

The Advanced Inventory module in QBES v2013 allows you to set up inventory bins within each of your multiple inventory locations in QBES.  That is to say, you can have Warehouse 1, with Bin A and Bin B; Warehouse 2 with Bin A, Bin B.  We suggest Intuit customers use the AI Module to transfer and restock inventory from the Warehouse (and bins) to the appropriate technician.  When the technicians add Inventory items to their IFSM invoice, the inventory will be deducted from the technician’s inventory location in QBES during the sync process.  IFSM does not support deducting inventory directly from the “bins” themselves, though.

You can visit our Intuit Field Service Management Vimeo Channel to see integration of Advanced Inventory with IFSM.

How to hide Work Orders

Most Intuit Field Service Management subscribers wish to take advantage of the real-time dispatch and the Appointment list on our mobile app running on the service technician’s smart phone or tablet.  However, some service companies want their techs to only know about the current work order, and the techs should not see any future appointments.  This document explains the technique the Office users will follow (service manager, dispatcher) for “one at a time dispatch”.  One At A Time Dispatch
